Description
Buckets are being hung on Maple trees to collect sap to make maple syrup. It takes approximately 45 gallons of sap to produce a gallon of maple syrup. A single tree can produce 10 to 20 gallons of sap, or 1/3 of a gallon of maple syrup. The volume depends on the tree, weather conditions and the length of the sap season. The sugar maple is the only variety of maple tree with a high enough concentration of natural sugar to easily make maple syrup.
